Job Evaluation Chart

After completing the Interests, Values and School Subject questionnaires it is time to put all these together. We will add a few more determining factors to decide what career choices would best fulfill your main interests, values, skills, preferences and physical capability.

Print out a copy of the Job Evaluation Chart for each of the 6 or fewer Interests that you double-checked. At the top of each copy, write the name of an Interest. Now complete each Job Evaluation Chart by writing a (+) for yes and (-) for no. Add the total number of pluses for each. The Interest with the highest number is your first job choice, 2nd highest number your 2nd job choice, etc.

  9. ___Opportunity for advancement: What are my chances of getting higher level jobs in this field?
(TIP: Ask people who work in this field, school counselors, friends -- and always ask during an interview. Rule of Thumb: Larger companies have more opportunities for advancement than small businesses.)
